My (full) working Experience

I take skills and lessons away from every role I've worked - even the less glamorous ones

Oct 2021 - Jun 2022

Dec 2020 - Sep 2021

Sep 2020 - Nov 2020

Mar 2019 - Sep 2020

Active financial management, tracking, and ownership of profitability and revenue in my portfolio. Gaining experience helping manage an Account Executive. Working on American Express, Activision Blizzard.

Account Executive

Dentsu Creative

Launched into the deep end onboarding our new global client. High volume, fast turnaround and complex TTL projects, promoted after 10 months to Account Manager. Worked on American Express, the Wallabies.

Account Intern

History Will Be Kind

Learnt the ropes in my first agency experience. Google, YouTube, Etihad Airways, amaysim, Webjet.

Marketing Assistant

ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS)

Here I acted in a more direct marketing role, promoting the university through themed events and speaking roles.

Marketing Assistant

ANU College of Business and Economics (CBE)

After an internship with the team last year, I was offered to continue with the team, working on promotional and marketing activities for the upcoming year. The role sadly ended due to Covid.

Nov 2019 - Feb 2020

Marketing Co-ordinator

Twofold Aboriginal Corporation

I contracted on the NSW far south coast to learn about the corporation, develop a new marketing and social media strategy, and create a website that would engage with all of their distinct consumer segments.

Marketing Intern

ANU College of Business and Economics (CBE)

I was selected in the competitive Internship Program to intern within the ANU. I created copywriting and brand guidelines, promotional video content, newsletter redesigns, and extensive copywriting for their new website.

Sales Assistant

Bailey Nelson

Here I sold eyewear products, created strong customer relationships, learnt complex medical information and how to operate diagnostic tools, and educated customers about anything vision-related. I already had a strong background in sales and was consistently a top-10 salesperson nationally.

Marketing Intern

SmartBay (China)

I decided to take advantage of my Mandarin and Marketing university majors and organised an internship in China. This was a crazy, crazy experience. SmartBay aimed to grow the usage of EBay in the region by local industry producers to sell their products. We worked hard in the office and then even harder in the bars. In China they sure know how to run a 'business meeting'...

Volunteer Surf Lifesaver, Rescue Boat Driver

Bronte Surf Lifesaving Club

I started in junior surf lifesaving at age 4 and never looked back. I had 70+ successful rescue operations and consistently promote surf safety and education amongst the public. When I move back to Sydney next year, you'll know where to find me!

Founder

Public Speaking and Debating Workshops

I took my 7+ years as a debater and my experience working for the NSW Department of Education to set up a workshop business in the ACT. It helped give younger students confidence, logic, and fluency in their speaking.

Debating Educator

NSW Department of Education (Arts Unit)

After a solid high school debating career, the Arts Unit asked me to periodically help teach, judge and retrain students and teachers in debating. We primarily worked across rural and regional NSW with workshop audiences of generally 100+ students.

Social Media Officer

ANU Debating Society

This one was a bit of fun. I promoted events and managed the society social media profile, but primarily my role was to make memes. The better the meme, the higher the engagement from our target audience. This led to fantastic event attendance and society engagement.

President

German Australian Students' Society

After receiving an exchange scholarship to Germany from this organisation, I stayed on to ensure the smooth running of the society. In this role I oversaw a variety of roles and completion of multiple concurrent projects, and maintained relations with German business sponsors.

Maintenance Worker

Burton & Garran Residential Hall

One sweltering summer working in maintenance at my old residential college at ANU. Here I learned basic electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, general maintenance skills, and the good old fashioned skill of lifting heavy things up and down stairs. Thanks to this job I'm generally pretty handy.

National Head of Marketing

German Australian Students' Society

After receiving an exchange scholarship to Germany from this organisation, I continued to help run the society. Here, I worked to revitalise the marketing strategy and create the new 'GASS Australia' brand, as well as a new website and suite of promotional and direct marketing events.

Debating Coach

ACT Debating Union

I taught a team of kickass primary students how to debate and was fairly successful - we won a competition or two.

Sales Representative

LMS Thinking

Even 5 years later I still view this as one of my defining roles. It taught me everything I know about sales, and built up my skills through the sheer grind of working door-to-door on 100% commission.

Line Cook

Charing Cross Pizza Restaurant

Working in a kitchen during the evening rush is where I truly learned how to multitask and work under pressure. Great fun.

Café Assistant

Croquembouche Cafe

My first 'real' job! I used to crack some of the macarons on purpose just so I could eat them. Shhh, don't tell anyone.

Founder

Tutoring business

Can you call yourself a "founder" when you're 13? I'm going to count it. This was my first real business, teaching local year 5-7 students English and Maths.
